On January 27, 2024, Sea Shepherd Spain joined the event organized by GoodKarma Projects “Medpellets pellet sampling, 5 years studying the pollution of the beach of La Pineda de Tarragona”, which discusses the problem of pellets found on that beach of Tarragona due to the proximity of the Petrochemical Complex.

By carrying out the sampling in 2 hours, we sampled 226,220 pellets, more than 2,827.5 pellets per square meter. The results were presented to the Public Administration to provide recent information on the state of pollution on the coast, they accepted and initiated the legal procedure. So we were facing an environmental victory.
